[AGKetzer-ALICE] Working from home with x2go

Dear colleagues,

We have installed the x2go server on all Centos7 machines in our group.
You can now excess these machines via the x2goclient. This is a program, 
which connects to your PC and you can work (as if you were in the 
institute) from home.
You can find the way to install the x2go client on your machine at:

Please work yourself through the wiki and install the x2goclient on your 
lokal machine, if you want to use it.

Once this is done, you can open the client and create a new session.
Remember, that all our PCs are located "behind" the hardgate server. 
Therefore, the best way to access your machine is to setup OpenVpn. You 
can find instructions for that in an e-mail, which Michael Lang sent 
some time ago.
Once that is set up, open the OpenVPN connection. Then you can create a 
session in the x2goclient, where you specify a Session Name (as you 
like), the host (<your_machine_name>.cb.uni-bonn.de), your login name 
under "Login" and KDE as Session type. Unfortunately. that was the only 
one that worked for me.

Now go to Input/Output and activate the Xinerama extension (checkmark). 
Without this, the client will not show the windowsize correctly if you 
have two monitors installed at your HISKP machine.

I did not try much with the x2goclient up until now because I am working 
currently from my office in the uni. If you have problems with the 
client, try to read the wiki and in general be a bit careful. If there 
are related problems, which you can not solve yourself, then you can ask 
me or Mathias of course.

One final remark: Please do not try to access the fsketzer as Host for 
x2go. The x2goserver is not installed anyways on that machine and we use 
the fsketzer just with ssh. What you can do is to connect via terminal 
inside your s2go session to the fsketzer.
