Dear colleagues,

It is a pleasure to give my strong support to the request by Mr Luke
Gayer for financial assistance to attend the Lattice 2022 conference.
Luke is in the third year of his PhD under my supervision. His research
topic is centred on hadron spectroscopy. He is co-author on a paper
published last year on Dpi scattering [JHEP 07 (2021) 123 • e-Print:
2102.04973], as part of the Hadron Spectrum Collaboration and he is
currently finalising a new calculation of the excited and exotic
heavy-light meson spectrum (including B, Bs and Bc mesons).

Luke is an excellent student and is looking forward to attend his first
lattice conference where he will present a poster describing the
heavy-light spectroscopy mentioned above. This will be the first time he
can attend a major international conference since due to the covid
pandemic his travel to conferences and schools has been severely
restricted and Lattice 2022 is a great opportunity for him to meet
others in the field and to present his work to an international
audience. Research funding for theoretical physics in Ireland is very
limited and any support you can offer will be of great help.

I am happy to send any further details as needed.

Kind regards,

Sinéad
